I’ve been called “extra” many times before I even realized or maybe accepted that I was. So when Intermix asked me to choose a look for the holiday season, I selected this multilayered bright red two piece work of art by AMUR. When asked where or what occasion I’d wear it to, I answered: The real question is where could I NOT wear this look? I would wear this to eat dinner with my husband for his birthday. Or I would call some friends and tell them that we’re going out for fancy cocktails and dinner, and yes, I would arrive in this ensemble. I’d even wear this to take myself to the ballet and book a table for ONE at one of my favorite French restaurants in New York. But, since we’re talking about the holiday season, I’d wear this to dinner for NYE too. This is how I’d like to look to welcome the new year. Bright, fun, romatic, and ready to twirl!
This gorgeous two piece can be dressed up or down because the peplum top can be worn with jeans, and the gorgeous tiered skirt could be paired with a tee and sneakers.
In my opinion, it’s better to be overdressed instead of underdressed. This skirt screams drama and fun, but it could also be romantic. My favorite part about it aside from the movement it gives when I walk is the high slit! It’s the perfect dancing skirt. I also love the peplum top because it’s incredibly flattering. It transform the two piece into a flawless gown.
I selected some PVC slingback pink pumps by Francesco Russo and a gold silk headwrap to complete the look. These pumps are sexy modernl. I love the playfulness of ankle strap and closure. The shoes are a statement of their own, but also complement the high slit of the skirt. I’d wear them again with denim and an oversized button up blouse or one of my husbands white shirts.
What do you think of this look? And where would you wear it to?
