Style post: The bright, graphic sweater

April 8, 2013 by findingpaola

My boyfriend took one look at me, and said, “This sweater looks like one of those articles of clothing you refer to as, ‘things only Asian girls can pull off.’” I laughed when he said that because it’s true, and also because it shows that he listens to me when I ramble on and on about things that don’t really matter. I believe and always joke around that Asian girls have the ability to pull-off the craziest of styles. I […]

Loehmann’s Italian Designer Preview

February 20, 2013 by findingpaola

It’s exactly ONE week before the amazing Loehmann’s Italian Event.  On Wednesday, February 27, 2013 , Loehmann’s stores all across the country will display some juicy and downright gorgeous pieces from some our favorite Italian designers which include: Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Valentino, and Jean Paul Gaultier Soleil. And what makes this event special? Because these beautiful and must-have-in-your-closet pieces will be sold at prices we admire and love Loehmann’s so much for.  We’re talking about at least 65% retail […]

Coral for work

May 22, 2012 by findingpaola

It was so beautiful and sunny last Friday, I wore my favorite spring color to match my mood, Coral! I know it’s my color because it compliments all shades of brown skin so perfectly. It’s girly and fun, and who doesn’t like that combination? I get lots of compliments for this dress, but it was only purchased for $15 at a random store in Harlem. I wish I also got the yellow and the royal blue. It’s the kind of dress […]

Quality time

May 15, 2012 by findingpaola

I knew Mother’s Day was going to be epic from the way the day started. I overslept so I knew I was already running late. I got dressed rapidly, barely thinking about what I was going to wear. I grabbed a burgundy sheer dress I purchased for the fall last year from my closet and threw it on. I really love clothes I can just wear throughout many seasons. I decided to pair it with  light colored belt and shoes since the dress is already […]

A laid-back Easter: Pastels and florals

April 8, 2012 by findingpaola

I remember Easter really well last year. Tyler and I went on a little getaway in Long Island– a hotel deal I found on LivingSocial. It was at least 10 degrees warmer last year, and I wore a flower-print dress with some bright pink shoes. In fact, the shoes were exactly the ones I wore this Easter. They might just become my “Easter” shoes. I love how bright they are, and how little the heels are. They look great with pastels […]

Work, Play, Work, Play!

March 29, 2012 by findingpaola

To celebrate the nice weather last week, my friends and I left the dungeon (that’s what we call the office) and went for some sunshine lunch. We ran up Ninth Avenue and looked for restaurants with outdoor seating. We picked Don Giovanni, a casual Italian restaurant, known for their pizza and lasagna. The food was decent, nothing to brag about. While it’s affordable, I prefer Capizzi, another small Italian pizza place in Hell’s Kitchen. The only advantage Don Giovanni has […]

Ocho

March 27, 2012 by findingpaola

I will return to San Antonio only if I can go back to Ocho, a restaurant Tyler found on Yelp during a our long weekend/friend’s wedding getaway. Tyler has this thing where he refuses to eat at just a random restaurant, no matter how crowded or successful it seems. He figures most crowded places near a water front or town center will only serve overpriced, below-average food with poor service, which is probably accurate the majority of the time. So, […]

Le printemps, mon printemps

March 24, 2012 by findingpaola

Spring is the season when snow melts (not that we had any in NYC this year), and animals come back from hibernation. You can hear the birds chirp, and watch the trees come back to life. It’s the season when people smile more, care more, and play more. It’s the season for colors, lovers, and flowers. I was in San Antonio for a wedding last week, and while my boyfriend was having a golf day with the groomsmen, I decided to […]
