Color me coral

March 21, 2012 by findingpaola

Coral is one of my favorite spring colors. I think it compliment brown skin really well. It was Friday night in San Antonio, a full day before the wedding. After a delicious meal and a night of harmonious toasts to the bride and groom, we sat outside. Sipping on cocktails, talking, laughing. Many conversations all going at once, forming a song of happiness. The streets were busy, it felt like there was a party in every corner. The bar next […]

Playful

March 12, 2012 by findingpaola

On Saturday, I decided to stop in the office to finish some work before Monday. Saturday is much quieter day in the office than a regular weekday so I thought it would be perfect for me to get some of my work done then. I decided to dress very casual and playful since I would be the only one from the executive staff there. The weekend is time for me to be in my creative state, and I didn’t feel […]

From up top

March 8, 2012 by findingpaola

Saturday was such a busy day for me! My brother was still in town, so I decided to do some touristy things with him. Later on, I went to Sarita’s new swanky apartment for a fun get together. We started at the Empire State Building because I have free express tickets, and my brother has never been. I’ve been up there so many times for work related events this past year, and it still catches my breath every time. I […]

Chocolate truffles

February 13, 2012 by findingpaola

Instead of drooling over La Maison du Chocolat’s sweet delicacies this year, I’m sneaking some delicious treats from my very own fridge! Made by my boyfriend and rolled into balls by me, these chocolate truffles are rich and just delightful. My boyfriend loves making things at home. From a warm loaf of bread, to pickled goods, he is always excited to try anything. He’s already tried to talk me into making bitters for cocktails or cured meats, but the sound […]

New York Fashion Week: BCBGMaxAzria Show

February 10, 2012 by findingpaola

Bon Chic Bon Genre (Good Style Good Attitude) is what BCBG stands for I found out yesterday after I went to my very first NYFW show. Well, I didn’t find out at the show, I googled it because I always wondered what it stood for, and I felt obligated to know after meeting the designer. When my boss mentioned the show to me just two days before, I was ecstatic! I’ve never been to a glamorous, big time fashion show before and […]

Something simple

February 3, 2012 by findingpaola

I like simple outfits. I’ve owned this navy American Apparel dress for years, and I love it. It’s easy, fun, comfortable and super cute. There are so many ways to wear it! That’s definitely my style, versatility. That time I went with a semi bold necklace and burgundy wedge heels. I am also wearing my favorite sweater above. I also can’t get enough of it. It’s so warm! It was a Saturday, and I decided to entertain a few of […]

Open House at Studio Museum in Harlem

December 21, 2011 by findingpaola

Last Friday, as I was flipping through my subscription of Time Out Magazine of the week, I noticed the Studio Museum in Harlem was having an open house with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. I grabbed my co-worker and only person who puts up with my last minute shenanigans that I refer to as “adventures”, got on the C train right from work and made my way to 125th Street. The event staff was extremely accommodating. I was so impressed […]

Fresh Moroccan

December 17, 2011 by findingpaola

Winter is finally here. I originally purchased the MAC lipstick, Fresh Moroccan for the spring season, but I’m loving it right now. It’s a mixture of maroon and bright glittery, orangey red. I think it’s perfect for casual or evening wear. It’s just great if you want your lips to pop. I was on my way out to visit many of the holiday pop-up shops in the city that day. It was a work project, but being that I had […]
