Ready for Haitian Flag Day!

May 8, 2013 by findingpaola

With the help of my good friend, Alejandro, I was able to snap some good photos with Ania in Union Square two days ago. We went all out with our Haitian pride where we coordinated the Haitian flag colors. It was fun to shoot with Ania, the super model of the team. The tanks are now available on the website! http://www.ansanmnouseayiti.com Also our Haitian Flag Day giveaway is over, and the winner was announced on our Facebook page this past […]

Introducing: Ania Charlot for “Ansanm Nou Se Ayiti”

January 23, 2013 by findingpaola

I met Ania at An’n Pale, a cafe conversation series hosted by Haiti Cultural Exchange. The person of interest for that night was Dayanne Danier, fashion designer and humanitarian, and she had Ania model some of her clothes. I saw how incredibly striking Ania was and decided to approach her to let her know and also to introduce myself. After hanging out with Ania a few times, I must say that I’m delighted that I approached her because not […]

#NYFW Mataano Spring/Summer 2013

September 14, 2012 by findingpaola

On Tuesday, I told my colleagues I’d be back in a few hours, and hopped on the train to the Mataano Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show. I arrived all sweaty after realizing I miscalculated my timing and I would be late. To my surprise, two of my favorite models were part of the show! I was so happy to see Diandra whom I met through my friend Abby and  shot with previously for a 4ACES shoot, and Cecily Lopez, a young […]

Fashion’s Night Out 2012

September 7, 2012 by findingpaola

After the most amazing time at Lincoln Center for the Arise Show (post coming soon), we stopped by Aissata‘s to refresh, change, drink some champagne, and of course dance around before another fun time out. Fashion’s Night Out- a night to be bold and daring to walk around the crazy streets and shops of NYC did not disappoint. Since our plans changed for the night, it was all impromptu for us, and Aissata styled me with her very own clothes. […]

Figment 2012!

June 14, 2012 by findingpaola

Figment is one of my all time favorite NYC events. The two-day event takes place on Governor’s island, and only happens once a year. This was my third time going, and the tradition is to go on the second day. I’ve always been lucky to go with people as energetic and imaginative as me. As expected, Figment did not disappoint! The idea is to enjoy the art and be part of it. I always feel like I’ve stepped into a […]

noir et blanc

February 27, 2012 by findingpaola

To me in life, some things are as clear as black and white, but many things– sometimes too many– fall under a gray category. The gray categories are the unclear things to me that maybe I’ll never understand, or once I think I start to understand, they get even more complicated. The hardest (or maybe most interesting) part is that there are so many shades of gray, at times I get confused and categorize some of these life issues under […]

Something simple

February 3, 2012 by findingpaola

I like simple outfits. I’ve owned this navy American Apparel dress for years, and I love it. It’s easy, fun, comfortable and super cute. There are so many ways to wear it! That’s definitely my style, versatility. That time I went with a semi bold necklace and burgundy wedge heels. I am also wearing my favorite sweater above. I also can’t get enough of it. It’s so warm! It was a Saturday, and I decided to entertain a few of […]

Holiday Pop-up Shops 2011

December 8, 2011 by findingpaola

An article I wrote for work… Reds, greens, and sparkles dance about everywhere we look.  Christmas tree vendors and the sweet smell of pine take up the sidewalks.  Our favorite department stores’ holiday windows compete with extravagant, unique themes. The Rockefeller Christmas tree is lit. And you know what else? Shops are just popping up everywhere in the city. From Soho, to Times Square, to the Upper East Side, these pop-up shops are open just for the holiday season to ameliorate […]
