NYC Adventures: Lower East Side with Sarah

February 28, 2013 by findingpaola

Two fantastic days. One week. Barrels of fun, inspiration, and pure LOVE! I was able to reconnect with one of the first faces I met when I first moved to New York recently. I never know how I lose touch with people, but it happens, but I’m learning to realize that we always reconnect no matter how slim the chances. I spent an amazing Wednesday night with Sarah at her job in the Lower East Side right at the end […]

My boyfriend’s cooking: Pork belly sandwich

January 16, 2013 by findingpaola

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the juicy, finger-licking, delectable, pork belly sandwich my boyfriend made this past weekend. Most people I know, including me, always want to eliminate the prepping process and just want to get to cooking. Not according to my boyfriend. He gets all of his joy out of the preparation of each dish. So when he’s done cooking you can taste the quality of fresh ingredients that he cut, chopped, whipped, or baked himself. The kitchen is left with […]

Pass the loving, please

November 23, 2012 by findingpaola

Wednesday evening, traveling between NYC to New Jersey was chaos. On the busiest travel days of the year, Penn Station was shut down, which led a large number of the commuters to Port Authority as an alternative way of getting home for the holidays. After a very frustrating wait to get my bus ticket to visit my parents, and an even more maddening experience at the unorganized bus lines, I made it safely to my parents’. My brother and […]

Family meal and quality time

November 20, 2012 by findingpaola

The weekend Tyler and I went to Boston to visit his brother and sister-in-law, we decided to dedicate one night to home-cooking. This means, Tyler does all of the cooking. Keith airs out the apartment when it got too smoky. And I sit with Anita with our legs up basking in the apartment’s amenities, covered in plush, warm blankets with a glass of wine, and watching New Girl on Hulu. Isn’t Zoey Deschanel the cutest!? I contributed by cutting the Brussels sprouts […]

City cooking: Creamy chicken mushroom pasta

November 9, 2012 by findingpaola

One of my really good friends moved to NYC recently, and I was just thinking how ironic it is that now she lives here, we see each other  just as much (if not less than) when she used to just visit. She actually lives walking distance from my job, and our apartments are about 6 stops from my subway line. I knew something had to change! I came up with a great way to see her more often, and that […]

black, purple, ladies’ night

September 23, 2011 by findingpaola

Sara and Lauren came over my apartment yesterday to get ready for a fancy night out. We decided to dress up for the occasion, which lead us to all wear the same the colors, black and purple. The black dresses came out, and the purple accessories were ready to complement them. We were invited to eat a complimentary meal at one of the New York City’s best fine dining sea food restaurants, Oceana. A restaurant that recieved a two-star rating […]
