Sunshine loving in Meatpacking

New York City has introduced me to some of the most beautiful and interesting people from around the world. Layla and I met about four or five years ago at a nightclub. I still remember every detail of our encounter. She came out of the blue with her British accent and said, “We’re friends now, let’s take photos!” And I was like, “Uh! OK?” And we actually kept in touch! She lives in London, but we keep up with each other on social media, and every time she visits, we link up. We missed each other when I went to Europe, but it won’t happen again.

It was just the day before my beautiful friend had to go back to the UK, and we had to spend some time to catch up on her trip and all that she’s been doing. We met at Dos Caminos for a delicious guacamole and margarita-filled lunch. I seriously don’t remember laughing so much in a long time as she told me about her adventures from the night before. That woman is a story-teller! We met with the girls from Afro Alice who were visiting from out of town briefly, and they’re both such lovely women.

Layla and I decided it was going to be an epic afternoon since I wouldn’t see her again for a while. She convinced us to go into DvF where she purchased a gorgeous silk blouse. Then the woman blamed me for letting her go in. We finished our Meatpacking frenzy at The Standard. Where we enjoyed the sunshine all we could, made new friends, and sipped on cocktails until the sunset. It was fantastic.

This man hated us! I must agree that we were a little too excited and loud, but if looks could kill…

This was such a sweet story. There is something so magical about New York one could be left alone completely or meet new friends everyday. I especially loved the second photo of the guy making the stink face which you both were seemingly having a fantastic day.
