Summer Breeze

Summer breeze, o’ summer breeze, where art thou?

It has been hot! Hot, humid, and sometimes rainy. But I don’t mind. Give me a hot, humid, and rainy day anytime over a cold, lip-shivering, bone-breaking day. I’m caribbean, baby! For example, yesterday, I had no problem walking in the storm without an umbrella. You know why? Because it was hot! It is summer, and the rain doesn’t bother me, especially if I’m on my way home. You should’ve seen me… all dramatic. Hopping over puddles, and smiling at the skies. Then smiling turned to running because the lighting and thunder were not messing around. I realized that I’m actually terrified of lighting, and it’s almost comedic the way I react to it.

I’m already sighing over the fact that it’s the end of july. Why can’t summer last longer? This means August is going to fly by, then september, and then another 9 months of winter. Why can’t New York City have Los Angeles weather? I guess we can’t have everything we want in this life. However, I promise you, I’m going to be as colorful as possible this winter. Headwraps will be my winter hat, and it’s going to be fabulous!

My brother has been my summer assistant and intern for my company. He’s shown a big interest in Fanm Djanm and has been a huge help over all. I’m so proud and happy of his passion toward my project. I like to take him out to lunch to discuss future plans and other things about the company. We headed to Maison Harlem for a delicious and filling meal, and he snapped for photos of my outfit on the way.
