Silver boots! What a treat. In a season where most people wear black, it’s fun to add a little fun to things. These boots are a classic cut, but they’re silver! They are going to be used and abused when I’m done with them. They’re going to be my basic fall boots. You know the kind of boot you wear with everything? That kind. I went dancing in them, and they already have black scuff marks (which is expected in my case). I remember when I used to “borrow” my mom’s shoes in high school. She would always know because they always came back with all sorts of scuff marks. I would always deny, and I always got in trouble. But that never stopped me. She used to be furious at me because she really takes care of her shoes. I sort of do too now. They all live in clear plastic Container Store boxes, so that’s a step. Honestly, depending on the shoe, there’s some charm in scuff marks because it shows that they’re being worn. Fancy pumps can live without these marks though. Nothing is worse than getting all dressed up, and the pretty shoes you chose to wear need new heels or something. I’m not THAT bad anymore.
Another thing I’m loving this fall and winter are these Heat Tech basic turtlenecks from Uniqlo. I would recommend getting every basic color because I will! These turtlenecks are absolutely boring at first glance, but they’re smart. They’re light, warm, and will be the perfect base for any cute outfit. While, you’re at it, get the regular Heat Tech long sleeve shirts too. I’m wearing one right now under my dress at work, and it’s fabulous. No, this is not an ad for Uniqlo, they really are amazing. And they’re so soft!
I found this super fun jacket at a Thrift store in the East Village, same time I found the one from THIS post. I just love thrift shopping. You never know what you’re going to find. My hair is in four two-strand twists going back. I’m getting better at this protective hairstyle thing. I still can’t braid so this is the best I can do. I don’t mind it as long as it takes me less than 20 minutes to do my hair.
