Remember the little blue leather dress I wore for my birthday? At first glance, I knew I wanted to wear it for a night out because of its cutout in the back. But after I bought it, I knew it would also look beautiful with all sorts of sweaters, including oversized ones. It’s now being served as a blue mini leather skirt, which I probably would never purchase. I have enough little black ones. I’m glad I bought the dress though because it’s perfect to wear with different tops- giant flannel shirts from Fiance’s closet or enormous sweaters from any thrift store in the East village. I guess the moral of the story is, a little dress has many purposes. Don’t just use it as it comes because then it becomes boring no matter how cute it is. Be creative! And when you use your imagination, your wardrobe appears a lot bigger than it actually is. Are you asking if I will also use this dress as top to pair with skirts? Absolutely! I will use it as a dress (because it actually is one), a mini skirt, and a top because damn it! I’m going to get my money’s worth. This is just one of my little fashion tricks? I use articles of clothing and accessories for all sorts of different purposes than they’re intended to. What fashion tricks to do you use?
