A chic Harlem consignment boutique with a hip Parisian flair? Does such a thing exist? Oh yes. Yes, it does. Trunk Show Designer Consignment (or TSDC) occupies a small but significant piece of 113th street at Frederick Douglas Boulevard. Just like its website describes, it truly is a luxury haven in Harlem. Owned by two women in their early twenties, the small shop caters to the fashionable crowd (both men and women) with expensive taste who likes to save a few bucks by shopping second-hand.
The charming and well laid-out boutique is just around the corner from Harlem Restaurant Row. It falls under my “must-visit” list if you’re in NYC to shop for designer goodies. Also it’s your chance to come up and visit Harlem! Once you’re done shopping or drooling over every single piece, you can stop for a drink and delightful appetizers at 67 Orange. There you go, I just planned a fantastic afternoon of fun for you.
Expect to score a pair of (very gently used) Louboutin heels at 40-60% off their retail prices. You’ll find anything from Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent men’s shirts to Balenciaga shades, and vintage Chanel Purses. Herve Leger and Balmain are also no strangers to this little spot.
The best thing about TSDC is that both owners and the entire team are extremely down to earth and welcoming. They engage in customer interaction and never pressure. They are just always happy to help. They have a “no fake” policy, and they guarantee every piece is carefully selected and purchased from trustworthy clients. If the authenticity of any purchase is ever questioned, they will issue a full refund.
I’ve been eyeing some things from my few visits there. I told myself that I will treat myself there one day when one of my projects go the way I plan. I love finding ways to spoil myself! But I only do if I think it’s well deserved.
Stay tuned for a post featuring both owners!
