There’s something special about Sunday brunch. Sitting with a group of friends, laughing, talking passionately about world issues, eating and of course, drinking. We had a fantastic brunch yesterday at 5 And Diamond in Harlem. I ordered pancakes with fried chicken and it was divine. The chicken was perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Their bourbon brunch cocktails are good, but I prefer the spicy bloody mary.
I knew I wouldn’t head home right after brunch because we were having such a good time. We stopped by Park 112 for more brunch cocktails, then finally ended up at Shrine. You have no idea how much I love that place! We first danced to jazz. I met this wonderful, lively old man with blue relaxed hair. When I complimented him on his hair, he responded, “Baby! I’m not just my hair! I also got a good body, smile, and I’m good in bed. Come here, what’s your name?!” I also met a beautiful woman singer. We talked briefly, and I plan on catching up with her in the near future. I just love meeting talented women with great energy! We ended the night jammin’ to the drumming from Mother Africa. I went crazy, the headwrap came off, the hair started swinging. I even started a dance circle with a bunch of beautiful strangers. How can you not love Harlem?
