It’s Christmas time in the city…

What happens when no one in your family has Christmas spirit? You bring the Christmas spirit to them!

1- Play Santa. Everybody loves gifts…even those who pretend not to. (Ahem… dad?)

2- Play Christmas Carols.

3- Be jolly. Laughing is contagious.

I visited my family in New Jersey on Christmas Eve to celebrate the holiday they kind of stopped caring about. On Christmas day after everyone opened their gifts, I had the opportunity to play host and tour guide to my brother and friends. I brought them to New York made it a fun family day trip for them.

Everyone made the trip to Harlem to my apartment since I thought it would be great to play games, hang out, and eat supper before we headed out. After a fun game of Apples to Apples, delicious NYC pizza, and hot chocolate, we headed to see the Rockefeller tree. We got off Central Park South, and walked past all of the carriages, fancy stores, and street vendors.

We all had a terrific time. They were all happy campers at the end of the day. They even told me that I succeeded and that they had a great Christmas! My brother gave me a couple of awkward hugs to show his gratitude. I would say this was one of my favorite Christmases of all time. Hope you all had a great one!

Looks like you all had a blast…if all that fun didn’t get your fam in the Christmas spirit then nothing would have! Your blog is one of my daily must-reads; seeing your photos and reading about your adventures always inspires me to spend more time enjoying this beautiful city we live in. It makes me a little sad that I always dreamed of living in NYC and now that I do, I so often take it for granted. Here’s to changing that in 2013! A (belated) Merry Xmas and a very happy New Year to you, Miss Paola…thanks for sharing your life with us! :)

And Happy New Year to you, Miss Yemi! Thanks so much for stopping by with your positive words! I’m just so happy to be here, sometimes, I have to slow myself down because I can’t do everything at once. Here’s to you exploring more of New York in 2013!~
