Finding Harlem Street Style: Naila

The weather is warming up, at least that’s what it wants us think, and beautiful Harlem ladies are coming out looking as pretty and colorful as ever. Bright sweaters and big hair are never a bad combination. This week’s feature on “Finding Harlem Street Style” is a personal friend of mine. She’s as bubbly and gorgeous as the photos tell us. Just shooting her personal style for 15 minutes led us to encounter some very interesting individuals. We couldn’t help but laugh at everything. I love her style because she always looks comfortable no matter what she wears, and she always manages to look pretty and interesting. Comfort is a big deal for me when it comes to personal style, so I always appreciate it when I come across it.

Name: Naila Leonie (She told me her full name with her Portuguese Accent, and I understood nothing) || Instagram: @nailafofa

Origin: Guinea Bissau

Occupation: Student

Describe your personal style: Punkish… Just funky! Yea, that’s a good way to describe it.

Favorite thing about Harlem: I love the different styles in Harlem. I see a lot of Afro Punk. It’s really concentrated in this area, and I think that’s really cool.

Interesting fact about you: I cry a lot *laughs*. Like from cartoon movies…  I can also burp really loudly, and I’m flexible. Actually don’t put that! It sounds kind of sexual.

Sweater: Carducci (Vintage purchased from Ebay); Shorts: H&M; Shoes: Deena & Ozzy (Urban Outfitters); Bag: MMS (Burlington)

What do you think of Naila’s style? Harlem Street Style will be featured every Thursday. Check out more Harlem Street Style HERE. Stay tuned for more!
