Double birthday weekend in Boston

Today is my wonderful boyfriend’s birthday! To begin the celebrations, we hopped on a bus to Boston to stay with his brother Keith and wife Anita for a weekend filled with great food and fun times. It turns out that Anita’s birthday falls one day after Tyler’s so we had all the reasons to drink bubblies and enjoy fancy meals. We were able to see Tyler’s sister and mother on the trip also, which made the weekend very special for us. I love watching the way his face lights up around his family.

I like spending time with Tyler’s brother and wife. They’re an amazing young and fun couple! Tyler and I, for a couple who have been in a very long relationship (7 years), we don’t have many “couple” friends. We can always expect a fun time with his brother and wife. They’re both very health-conscious and don’t drink much. They enjoy good old-fashion fun, which excludes the late nights and really loud places. You guys know how much I like dancing with my crazy dance moves, but it’s always a breath of fresh air for a quiet night in (or not-so quiet when we’re playing games) with people who matter.

On Saturday night, we enjoyed dinner at Gaslight, an amazing French bistro in Boston. The food was very high quality and delicious. Although the restaurant was very spacious, I loved the retro décor and bistro feel of the place. Our server was very welcoming, attentive, and not too intrusive. The entire evening was just… delightful.

Happy birthday Tyler and Anita!

Looks like a great time, and good old fashioned fun is a nice reprieve here and there :). As a Bostonian, I am now adding that restaurant to the must try list.

Good to see Tyler had fun birthday festivities. Sounds like a blast!
Also, I think we should have game night! We have Settlers of Catan good for 4-6 players :) I think you and Tyler would like it.

omg, we only play that game like every Christmas for the past four years. Tyler and his brother have forced me to hate the game because they always win and have playing sessions that would last over 5 hours! They’re all about “strategy, strategy, strategy!” Ugh! But I’ll play just for you. Haha
