1-DSC_222027-DSC_220022-DSC_0331-001Somehow the universe brought me the most delightful of friends. I say all the time how lucky I am to be surrounded by the beautiful people who are a part of my life, and this just proves it. My friends secretly planned an elaborate tea party over the course of two months just for me! The tea party was thrown to celebrate my engagement, and it was magical. I’ve always talked to my friends (on separate and numerous occasions) about how we should plan a tea party. I would even go as far as saying, which celebrities I would invite. And if you must know, only two celebrities made the list: Michelle Obama and Grace Jones. I always imagine having just a fantastic time with these two.

So my amazing fiance was bugging me to get out of work all day on Saturday. So I finally decided to put away my giant pile of papers to go meet him. He told me while I was in Haiti, he made plans with my friend Sarita.  And because I haven’t seen Sarita in a while, that was fine by me. Sarita and I always have a great time together. There’s always too much giggling when we hang out.

I get there, and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! There were flowers everywhere. And the tea sets and macarons sat there waiting for me. There were so many desserts, I didn’t even know where to put myself. I realized I was not dressed appropriately for the occasion since I was wearing a boring black dress at work. And guess what? My fiance packed (what he imagined would be) a tea party dress for me from my closet with a pair of heels. So cute! That was seriously one of my favorite nights ever. The tea party shortly turned into a Colombian dinner feast. In a matter of hours, the tea was replaced by sangria in the beautiful, delicate tea cups. And I was speaking in my loud, ridiculous voice.

It turns out that the tea party was even more fun than we all anticipated. I now want to host an elaborate tea party every year! And yes, there will be gloves and hats.

It’s always great to have wonderful friends that matters and cares rather than a circle full of people just for show.
You girls are blessed and beautiful, keep it that way.
