Paola… Lost in New York City

spiked smoothies, cocktail bowl, and birthday wishes

Made friends with Steven, the coolest bartender at Cocktail Bodega

On Sunday, the weather was just amazing. One of the most beautiful fall days fell on my birthday! I know you guys are already tired of birthday posts, and this is the last one. I promise!

I woke up early to watch the sunrise. It was a glorious sight although the roof was extremely windy and cold. The whole time as the sun started to peak out in the horizon, I had a giant smile on my face. Just the day before, I spent one of the best days of my life with great friends, and I was just so happy to be alive and to have celebrated so well.

That day, what was supposed to be brunch turned out to be just drinks and appetizers with a nice group of friends at Cocktail Bodega. After a few spiked smoothies, we headed over to Pain Killer for some fantastic drinks made by the friendliest St. Lucian bartender I’ve ever met! He made me my own birthday cocktail with Rhum Barbancourt (of course). And also, upon arrival, as we were all seated, I got a giant bowl of cocktail with a fire in the middle to share with friends. Better than a lit birthday cake if you ask me! I loved that night, and the night before, and the day that preceded. I’m just so thankful to be surrounded by so many insightful, beautiful, supportive people. I love you all!

    • I hope you find some delicious cocktails tonight! Ask them if they have Rhum Barbancourt. ahaha! Have you tried Prestige yet? And I want to see a pic of you with the shirt since you never made it to NYC! Don’t think I forgot that you were supposed to be here around my birthday!

      • {my head hanging in shame} yeah, I didn’t make it to NYC. Just some things happened. Going to Colombia next week though! I see you had a great birthday there. I have yet to try Prestige. It’s funny; every time I’m in a store that sells beer I look for it, but it’s not as common in Michigan I guess. I will get you a photo with the shirt though! Thanks again for sending that. you’re awesome!
