Wedding season is finally over for me and Tyler. The last one we went to was my third for the year and fourth for him. He was in the wedding party for three of them. All were beautiful and different in their very own ways.

This particular wedding was very special for us for many reasons. The first is that it was Tyler’s brother’s wedding. Second, he was the best man. Third, it was Indian themed, and we’ve never been to one before. Fourth, I got to meet so many aunts, uncles, and cousins that I’ve heard so much about the past few years. Fifth, I got to wear a sari, a choice of clothing I’ve always admired and found very elegant.

Henna tattoos, gold jewelry, and colorful saris moved about. The bride was the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen in my life. Bridesmaids surrounded her in the bride’s changing room, while each took turns securing a gold chain around her neck. It’s tradition. Colorful flowers in a plethora of vases and baskets enlightened the rooms. I took some lilies to accessorize my hair. There were rose petals in basket to throw on the newlyweds after the wedding ceremony.

The reception was held on the roof of the Taj where we got to see an amazing panoramic view of Boston. The sunset was spectacular. The first dance was dynamic, beautiful, and fun. They did a Bollywood number, which got everyone to join them on the dance floor. It was the first wedding I went to where about 95% of all of the attendees danced for pretty much the entire time. I had a delightful time.
