Paola… Lost in New York City

Just cruisin’

For Memorial Day weekend, Tyler and I had a fabulous time in Newport, Rhode Island. We attended one of his friend’s wedding he’s known since the fifth grade. He’s been a very popular guy this year, I tell ya. In the past three months, he has been a groomsman for two of three weddings he attended. I got to see him give another great speech at the rehearsal dinner– happy that he didn’t say anything inappropriate.

Tell me if this isn’t amazing… My boyfriend got to spend time with people he’s known since the first grade that weekend! I don’t even think I would recognize anyone I went to elementary school with. I barely remember anyone’s names. I remember Stacey, Samantha, and Jasmel, but I can’t think of any of their last names. The only faces I remember were the little faces that remain in the pictures I took with them about fifteen years ago. It’s almost like I knew them in another life, another world. I guess that could be considered true since I was in Haiti back then with no idea of what kind of woman I would become.

For the rehearsal dinner we went on a fun, three-hour cruise on a two-leveled boat around Newport where we were able to eat terrific Italian fare. I enjoyed watching the sunset and talking to other wedding guests. Later that night, we danced until the cruise ended and they kicked us off.

First grade buddy!

I wanted to keep things simple and steer away a bit from the bright red lips I’ve been wearing although I absolutely love them. I decided on a pink/nude lip (mixed Empowered by MAC and another MUFE lipstick for that color) to tone down my printed red and black BCBG dress. I wore some Forever 21 heels I purchased last year, I can’t believe they’re still holding up. It was supposed to be one of those disposable purchases, but I wore them because they weren’t too tall, but they were still quite dressy. They also matched my earrings!

I think that was a lady. Look at the shoes. I’m glad that is your only comment about this wholllle post though! Haha.

To be honest I thought it was a woman too because of the shoes, but then the whole “urinating on the poop deck” wouldn’t work.
