Feeling romantic

July 31, 2009 by findingpaola

Today, I purchased myself some beautiful roses. I was walking home from Columbia, and I noticed this rose vendor. She’s on the corner of Riverside and 165 st. every single day from the wee hours of the morning to really late afternoons (rain or shine). It was pouring extremely hard. She was walking up and down the street attempting and failing to sell her flowers to drivers and car passengers. After observing her for five minutes, I decided to cross […]

Just a little boost.

July 30, 2009 by findingpaola

Rochambeau, the French leader during the battle, […]

Under the bridge

Une promenade interminable

July 8, 2009 by findingpaola

As I stumbled along, I realized that the people were not the main focus of my walk. I usually love getting into the New York City crowd, but last night was more about my feelings, the sunlight and how walking a short distance of three blocks can lead you to a completely different world.

Richard, mon cher ami

July 6, 2009 by findingpaola

Meet Richard. Richard “Dick” Franks to be exact. Mr. Franks is currently one of my favorite characters in New York City. I don’t know much about Richard, but I have gotten the opportunity to speak to him a couple of times when I work at the restaurant. He is a regular, and he claims to have been the restaurant’s first customer when it opened decades ago. It might be true,  it might not be. “A lot has changed…” He would […]
